Table 1 (p904) gives mean weights and mean lengths (and proportion) for Black Sea population for age groups 0, 1, 2 and 3 for 1998-2000. "The minimum legal length for catching this species is 9 cm." Using data for mean lengths > 9 cm (i.e. age groups 1, 2 and 3) mean weights were calculated as follows: 1998-1999: 8.85 - 9.00g 1999-2000 : 8.12 - 8.27g. The estimated mean weight range was taken as 8.12 - 9.00 g.
